The 7 Chakras: Balancing the Throat, Third Eye, and Crown Chakras

Hello, and welcome back to this chakra article-series. The three chakras I’ll be explaining to you all are the Throat, Third Eye, and Crown

These three are what you call the “upper three” because they represent our spiritual nature; whereas the “lower three” chakras are our Root, Sacral, and Solar Plexus. They represent our human/ego/selfish desires

The Heart chakra is what bridges the lower half and the upper half together making a spiritually balanced individual. This can be related to the biblical verse John 14:6 where Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me”

This verse is an allegory to the process of becoming the Christ energy through knowledge of self, and through working from the Root(Satan) through the Heart(Christ) chakras, up to the Crown(the Father) chakra

Check out my post on the Heart Chakra for more info. Now without further ado, on to the topic!

Throat chakra

The Throat chakra is the fifth chakra located, of course, in the throat at its base. Its color is a light blue as shown in the picture above. Its functions are connected to self-expression, creativity, writing, and listening

Signs of a balanced Throat chakra:

  • Good speaker
  • Sincere
  • Truthful
  • Good Listener
  • Adjusts well to change
  • Open-minded
  • Non-judgmental

Signs of an imbalanced Throat chakra:

  • Fear in expressing yourself
  • Throat problems
  • Fear of silence
  • Lying
  • Arrogance
  • Talking too much

Balancing this chakra is simple and there are many ways you can. Deep breathing exercises, singing, and meditating on the color of this chakra are simple to do. As well as crying, singing, and even drinking water works

Third Eye chakra
Third eye chakra

Next is the Third Eye chakra. This chakra is located in the brain above the base of the nose, and its color is Indigo (This chakra is also connected to the mythical eye of Horus/Heru) The function of this chakra allows us to see through illusions and access our deep truths

This means seeing everything as it is, objectively, or, being mindful in the moment

When this chakra is activated, both hemispheres of the brain function in balance with each other. The right hemisphere’s creativity(feminine energy) is in tune with the left hemisphere’s logical thinking(masculine energy)

Signs of a Balanced Third Eye chakra:

  • Good imagination
  • Can visualize things easily
  • Can “grasp the big picture”
  • Expanded spiritual awareness and insight
  • Intelligent/Intuitive
  • Wise

Signs of an Imbalanced Third Eye chakra:

  • Lack of concentration
  • Obsessiveness
  • Over analytical
  • Delusional
  • No imagination or visualization skills
  • Bad/repressed memories

To balance this chakra, you can meditate and focus in between your eyebrows where your Third Eye is located. Getting enough sleep, between seven to eight hours. And eating blue colored foods such as blueberries, red grapes, blackberries etc

Crown Chakra
Crown Chakra

The Crown chakra is located at the top of the head or slightly above it, like a crown. This chakra is associated with the pituitary gland, and secondarily to the pineal and hypothalamus

Because of its location, the Crown chakra is associated with the brain and nervous system and is our connection to the Universe as the Root chakra connects us to Mother Earth

Its color is white or violet and the function of this chakra is to allow us to experience mystical oneness with everyone and everything. It is essentially going beyond the limits of the ego and knowing that everything in creation is interconnected

Signs of a balanced Crown chakra:

  • Great intuitive knowledge
  • Aware of spiritual self
  • Connected to our Higher selves
  • Able to surrender to events out of our control
  • Understands that death is not an end

Signs of an imbalanced Crown Chakra:

  • Feeling abandoned by “God”
  • Spiritual escapism
  • Relying too much on signs and omens
  • Inability to surrender to events outside of your control
  • Feeling entitled to special treatment from “God”

The Crown chakra doesn’t have any foods associated with it directly but having a balanced diet in accordance to your other chakras will in turn help to balance it

You can surrender situations to “God”/the Divine and trust that things will work out. Practice gratitude to attract more of what you already have. Meditate on a regular basis. You can even talk to whatever Divine being you believe in, a God or Goddess. There are many choices you can choose from

Also, if you haven’t established a strong foundation in your Root chakra I’d suggest working on that one first. The reason is because without a strong foundation, you’ll “crumble” from underneath. So please, be careful and always do your research
