5 Easy Ways to Ground yourself

Hello everyone, considering what’s been happening all year with these major changes I think its time to share some tips for folks to help balance their energy out

I’m sure many of life’s challenges have people stressing, over-thinking, panicking, you name it! But the best solution is to employ techniques that will help make sense of this chaos

Of course life isn’t perfect on this physical plane but that doesn’t mean you have to be a pawn and take a beating every minute of it. You’re supposed to enjoy life through the ups and downs–because each day serves as an opportunity to learn and grow

But I plan to keep this article short and simple so lets begin with the first on the list

Of course we can’t have an article on grounding without mentioning meditation–I mean, it is the easiest thing you can do. Many people believe its all about quieting the mind but that’s not the case

If you notice, your mind has a tendency to keep flowing with thoughts (what a surprise right?). You do your best to sit and meditate but they just keep coming, and that’s okay

The purpose of meditation isn’t to stop thinking, its to let your thoughts flow as you stay a neutral observer. It is a little tricky at first but the goal is to practice until you become adept at it

Its really simple once you get your own understanding. For me, being an air sign, my thoughts can overflow if I don’t be careful to focus exactly where I want to put them

So when I meditate I don’t concentrate on anything but my breathing. Any thoughts that do come–I notice that they are thoughts, and I release them with no judgement and put my focus back on my breathing

Over time I noticed that my focus is sharper, my mind is clearer, and I sleep better. Now you don’t have to meditate for long periods of time. A minute or two is good for beginners, but as you get more comfortable feel free to add a minute as you go

Another thing I should mention is that you don’t have to go into lotus pose or listen to the same cliché music. Get comfortable whichever way works for you like laying down or sitting in a recliner–be relaxed!

The music you choose should be something that you like that puts you in a good mellow mood. Have fun with it!

Food: The Way to the Stomach and Heart

Yes, eating is another great way to ground yourself. And I don’t mean it in a general way. Of course everyone eats but not everyone sits and enjoys the moment with their meal

Most days people are on their phones or watching TV while they dine–which in itself is nothing wrong, but it distracts you from the moment at hand. When’s the last time you just sat with your food and really enjoyed every sensation?

From the moment the food enters your mouth, to the seasoning and spices that mingle with your taste buds–all the way to the chomping and chewing and then the gulp! (Very sensational)

It may seem silly but it is very effective. No electronics, no TV, just you and your food. In case you’re wondering you can do this with anything that you like to eat; its amazing how good chocolate is once you take your time to enjoy it

Communing with Nature

What a surprise right? Who knew that just going into nature can ground your energy? If you didn’t know, well now you do, nothing to be ashamed of. By simply going outside and connecting with the earth, your energy can be revitalized

When I say connecting with earth I mean barefoot to the ground–hence the practice being called ‘Grounding’. Now, you can find more detailed information over the web about the many benefits of grounding

I am not too technical of a person but I do like to learn about the ins and out of things, just to get a basic understanding. Click here for more information on Earthing

If you read that article or are familiar with earthing, they talk about how the earth is negatively charged–which when we connect our body, which is positively charged with ions, it balances it out

That’s the gist of it at least, but this does work. As the Law of Vibration states, everything moves and has its own vibration. The earth is a living organism with its own vibration, so in turn, connecting with that energy attunes your energy with earth, thus creating balance

Of course use your own discretion when going barefoot in certain weather conditions. You don’t want cold feet and neither do I! But going that route is just one way of connecting to nature

You can simply sit and just listen to the sounds around you; such as birds chirping, cars driving on the highway, the wind blowing through the trees, etc.

Though doing a good deed doesn’t necessarily make you a holier-than-thou saint; when done with a pure heart you receive back from the Universe the same blessing you bestowed upon the individual you helped. Lets look at this another way

If you’ve read my article, How to Heal Generational Curses, I speak about ways to reprogram your mind to the reality you want to live. With that said, having a mindset of abundance or wealth will in turn push you to share that with the world around you

A good analogy I learned is that a closed fist not only keeps money from escaping but also keeps any from coming in. Not to say that you must give money all the time, but general acts of kindness reaps more rewards than just monetary gains

I give money to those I feel who need it and not those who panhandle for it. The ones who don’t ask but look like they could use it are who I look out for. As an anecdote for this, I stumbled upon this man at a convenience store who would open doors for people coming in and out. The man didn’t ask for anything and he wished everyone a good day, and no, he wasn’t an employee

So the money he did receive from people he was thankful for, it provided him with what he needed and helped him make ends meet. At the time, I was invoking the deity Baba lu-Aye since he was communicating with me. The form he chose to come through was that same man at the convenience store, so everything made sense in that moment. It was a test

Its more to the story and I’ll share it in more detail one of these days , but to cut to the point, the universe will test you to see if you deserve that what you desire. Will you let temporary human vices take importance over your spiritual enlightenment?

Of course money is important in this world we live in, but you can’t take it with you when it’s time to move on. That attachment makes your heart heavier than the feather. So to truly receive abundance, you must in turn give. Same way in order to breathe in new air you must release the old breath

Building off of that, just doing something nice for someone you come across not only sends that positive energy back–when done out of the kindness of your heart, they will feel that. That feeling sets things in motion for them to potentially help someone else in the future and so on making a snowball effect

That snowball effect could have been what you needed to open up new opportunities off of that one act of kindness. Of course hypothetical but you get the gist. What does this have to do with grounding? Simple, it humbles your perspective and you see the way how your actions influence your reality

Elation for Relaxation

Relaxation is a vital part of living, especially when obstacles appear in our paths. And when I say relax, I mean on all levels–letting any worries go blank in your mind. All you feel is peace and your mind is completely silent

Even if for only a brief moment of complete nothingness, you have accessed the space in your mind where your Higher Self resides. No worries of disease, bills, coworkers getting on your nerves, etc. All of it just disappearing. You could say this is something you experience in meditative states and is also beneficial

With your mind blank of any worries and fully at peace; allows for the divine powers within to help you out with whatever you need. Just have to trust and believe that everything you desire is petitioned for and already making its manifestation

Learning some breathing techniques is also beneficial and there are many you can research on the web to find. When I get home from a long day, I notice that my body is still tense even though I’m not at work. Same can be said for many others

That’s also a reason why many people don’t sleep as well as they should–their body is still tense! A way to fix that tension is to breathe deeply into those spots and release it out of your body. I imagine a golden white light healing that tension and I release it, visualizing the tension being a grayish color

You can use any color you like to heal yourself, it still works. This type of healing falls in line with energy work, so getting a book on Reiki would be recommended. Just know that this isn’t a replacement for any medical treatments so use at your own discretion!

Concluding Words

These 5 grounding techniques are the ones I generally use and I’m sure you can find many others on your own to utilize. They will definitely help you on your journey through this life and if you know someone who can use this information share it with them! Be that good Samaritan
